| Founder, President: Bilal
Shafi is the founder and president of SurgSolutions,
LLC. He has lead a development team in completing
prototypes and all related animal studies to show proof
of concept. Bilal has completed a fellowship in the
Biodesign Surgical Innovation Program at Stanford
University, where he has developed a number of devices
through various stages of development including chronic
animal studies and human clinical trials. During this
time he has gained significant experience in device
development from concept to commercialization. Bilal
completed his undergraduate and graduate education at
the University of Pennsylvania in Bioengineering,
focusing on biomechanics and instrument design. After
completing his medical education at Thomas Jefferson
Medical College he started a general surgery residency
at the University of Pennsylvania. |
| Gabriel Sanchez BS.,

Chief Technical Officer: Gabriel
Sanchez will serve as the CTO leading the development
of all the prototypes and all appropriate test
apparatus for the devcies. Recently Gabriel completed
a fellowship in the Biodesign program with Dr. Shafi.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical
Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology where he developed a novel needle-free
drug injection system. Currently at Stanford, Gabriel
has completed his MS degree and currently obtaining
his PhD in Mechanical Engineering focusing on medical
device design and electro-mechanical systems.

| Eric Thorsell |

Eric Thorsell is the R&D and Mechanical Design Lead for SurgSolutions. He holds mechanical engineering degrees from Stanford and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with experience in medical device design, biomechanics, and design thinking. On the ground for SurgSolutions, he is instrumental in prototyping, detailed design, experiment design, protocol development, and conducting animal studies. He has worked closely with surgeons to get prototype devices into the OR and has directed procedure during human clinical feasibility studies. Eric is also a founder of ReMotion Designs and co-designer of the JaipurKnee prosthetic knee designed for extreme affordability.
